moderate heat

I've looked and searched for an answer to a heating problem and can't find a solution. my 03 puts out nice cold AC but the heater puts out just above room temp. heat so Its take a coat in the winter. I bought it last winter and didn't really drive it far enough to notice the heat not getting hot until this year. Both heater hoses are hot to the touch and during some overheating problems this summer I replaced the thermostat and had the system flushed. I hear about the blend door but i'm not a wrench turner ( learning now ) and I don't know where that is or how to check to see if its working. Any help is needed. I don't know what it's prob is.

I'm on my phone so can't paste a link. Look at the top right and do a search for the blend door. There is a good write up about it. Good luck.

might be a heater core issue as in it MAY need to be flushed...a lot of Jeepers have found that to be the issue.....both hoses should be HOT on the heater core when heat is on full...IMO I would check this before I worry about the blend door.

thanks for the input for sure. I checked and both hoses are hot to the touch. I'll see if I can find that write up. I took it to the dealership when I first had the overheating problems and they said the whole system would be flushed. I assumed the heater part would be flushed to but I guess not. Oh and by the way, the found no problems but I replaced the radiator ( last part I didn't change ) and that fixed it. shocking. thanks again. Will keep you posted.

I was having similar luke warm heat issues. I flushed my heater core and washed all the crap out. Heat blows much warmer now. it took 15 minutes to do.

It sounds like you may have a bad water pump. Read this post (all of it!) You spoke over flushing, overheating and a new radiator and still have problems - sounds like the coolant isn't making the rounds.

How do you flush the heater core? Is it flushed when the radiator is flushed?
