Monstalined my tub

I am pumped that I got this done. I had been thinking about it for about 9 months. I didn't know if I would be able to do this, but I did. If you are wondering if you should try doing this, do it! I am glad I chose a roll on because I have zero paint and body experience. I am also glad I used monstaliner. I am sure it helped cover some of mymistakes.

When I figure out how I will post before during and after pics.

Oh yah, MONSTALINER is awesome. I love its look, texture, and appliability.

Please post some pics asap! I have been thinking about doing this myself. Glad you had a good experience with this stuff. I have also been thinking about doing my whole jeep exterior with a product like this. After doing the tub... how do you think that might look?

I am trying to get my phone to link to photobucket. As soon as that happens I will put some picks up.

I could see this stuff being used on the exterior. Its not near as gritty as some linings I have seen. The texture is given to it by the rollers so you have some control over the texture.

I don't know how familiar you are with doing this type of project but FOLLOW THEIR DIRECTIONS. They know this product and how it reacts with its environment. The only problems I had were because I was doing mine in less than favorable conditions. Also, You can put it on as thick as you want. If you are wanting to do more than your tub, don't go thick. I did my complete inside minus the roll bars and its thick and it took the whole gallon.

I have been looking at this product for a while now, and ive really liked what ive heard/read about it. How long did it take you to do the whole process? And how long before it was dry enough to put the seats/center console back in?

I just spent the last 6 hours reading about this stuff on a single thread lol. I think I'm sold. I have it all stripped getting ready for paint anyway. I wonder if I could pull this off and have it look professional?

TJKyle, looks really nice!

I did Monstaliner back in 2010 and had my doubts too. As long as the prep work was good and you did the right amount of scuffing and wiping down, it should last ya a long time!

As for the wires, I just hung them up from the roll cage with a hanger so they wouldn't be in the way. You CAN flip em over the side, but I Monstalined my tub rail and the door sills and they would have still been in the way.

Looks awesome. It's a great product with excellent C.S. My tub has been lined for nearly 3 years and the kiddos haven't killed it with their juice, crackers and junk. And I haven't killed it hauling garbage and stuff with it either. Takes a weekend to do, but heck...I sanded the whole tub down by myself...well with me and 4 of my closest friends named Samuel Adams lol
