Mopar engine coolant

Do any of the chain stores like Napa or O'Reilly carry Mopar coolant? Or is there an alternate make anyone can recommend?

Zerex G-05 is an equivalent substitute. Where I live, Napa has it on the shelf and O'Reilly can make it appear on request. The price is slightly better at Napa.

I use Royal Purple's Purple Ice and water. Mix 2oz. per quart of water and you'll be GTG.
Otherwise Dexcool works well too.

Hope this helps.

Do a search on Dexcool before you throw it in. It is for GM vehicles and from what many say on here it is bad to mix. Different chemistry. Don't be fooled by color alone. There was another thread about this a few pages back.

Dexcool is bad news coolant, that's the last coolant I'd use in any of my vehicles. Do a Google search for "Dexcool problems" and you'll see what I'm talking about.

My personal choice is Zerex G-05 which is a long life HOAT coolant. It comes in both a pre-mixed 50:50 ratio but if you buy the un-mixed undiluted version, make sure to only use distilled water. Tap water, at least in most parts of the country, will leave hard water deposits behind and eventually clog the radiator.

Good luck finding that!!!

As I think about it, not all TJ's were filled with the same coolant. The original question cannot be answered unless a year model is provided.

Now, just take your computer monitor out to your Jeep and fill her up!!!

The correct nomenclature is G-05 (G dash zero five), not GO-5 (GO dash five.) G-05 is hard enough to find without sending someone on a snipe hunt looking for GO-5.

That said, G-05 may or may not be the right stuff, depending on year model.

you're being ridiculous.

despite the nomenclature, I was able to find Zerex GO5 - and somehow managed to flush my coolant system and successfully install the new coolant.

I'm sure the OP will figure it out.

I had similar feeling when you "corrected" me for using the correct terminology.

I see....you're holding a grudge and now we got to the bottom of your pissing match.

I don't remember where I "corrected" your terminology, but theres a good bet it wasn't trivial. Besides...you remember now

You don't remember recommending GO-5 after I recommended G-05? No problem; it was over an hour ago!!!

In any case, I withdraw my recommendation pending disclosure of year model.

In that case, Zerex G-05 will work in lieu of Mopar 5-year coolant.
