Motorcycle Towing -

I have a 2009 Wrangker X with a factory installed tow package and upgraded larger tires. I've read all the horror stories online about problems trying to tow heavy items (boats, mobile homes, etc.) - I am interested in towing a Harley (750 lbs.) on a single rail, ball mount trailer that weighs 250 lbs. So, my total weight will be around 1,000 lbs. I'll be trailering primarily on the highway and about 450 miles each way. Has anyone trailered single motorcycles? Any problems? Thanks!

Ive pulled 3k+ with my tj. No problems but having to keep it in 4th and 3rd up mountains.

I have a 6x10 heavy A-frame trailer and I pulled my Suzuki 800-850lbs along with a riding mower and a dirtbike. 4hrs 200miles highway and town.

I pull a Kendon 3 rail bike trailer all the time with 2 full sized dirt bikes, gas cans, etc. behind my TJ. I think you will be fine with the set up you are describing here but just remember it is back there when you need to slow down. Jerry Bransford pulls a tent trailer often with his TJ as well. Make sure it sits level and your tow package is rated for the weight you intend on towing.

Awesome - thanks! My tow package is definitely rated at 2,000 lbs. and my total weight will not exceed 1,000 lbs. I'm pretty sure all 2009 Wranglers with the tow package also has the anti sway detection as well. I get a little nervous when I google this question and hear all the stories about the Wranglers short wheel base and light weight. I looked at the Kendon - awesome trailer! It seems to be similar (only the Kendon is much nicer) to the trailer I am looking at. Thanks!

Are you guys using a tow hitch or bumper with a receiver hitch. I took my hitch off to install a cat back exhaust. There don't seem to be many quality bumpers that are tow rated. Would frame tie ins and enough reinforcement for towing?
