Mounting a Hi-Lift jack to a rear bumper

I'm looking to get the Smittybilt Rear XRC Bumper with Swing Out Tire Carrier for my tj and was looking at a way to mount a jack to it without getting the intelligent rack

Check out thedirtworx. He hand builds all of his bumpers so you can ask him to customize it a little. Good prices as well and unbeatable customer service. Mine was $400 shipped to my front door. This is what I did: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/dirt...ew-242888.html

Is there a reason it has to be mounted to the bumper? Mine is across the back of my rollcage, attached with 2 muffler clamps. $5-10 worth of hardware.

That was the other thing I considered

I really like the rugged ridge rear bumper also but it doesn't have a hitch so could I use my factory hitch with it?

Good to know I'm not the only one to experience this problem.

I've got a Rockhard bumper and tire carrier now and I could not be happier. Super sturdy and latches really nicely.

Rubber between the mounting points
Or tighten the crap out of it

Yeah so I have the smittybilt tire rack and they send a piece of rubber and a screw. I'd like to see a picture of someone who used then without causing damage as fixing the problem.

Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I took one off cut it into two piece and got longer bolts for the two I had left and mounted it on the inside of the other rubbers. I'll post pics tomorrow.
