mounting storeage box

I have a plastic tool box that just fits in the back of my Wrangler with the seat out. So I want to mount it someway. I dont want to use some self drilling screws and have them hit something underneith. how long could they go thru the pan without hitting something? Thanks

Depends on where you're going through at. I THINK you have an inch or so under your rear pan before you hit tank, but I could be wrong. There's a write up in the Builder's Corner for how to raise your gas tank. Check that out for the pics. It'll show everything that's underneath your rear pan and hopefully that will help out. However, if you're looking to cut and drill anyhow, what about finding a mounting method to where you could mount it to where the seats mount? Use a little creativity and see what you can come up with. I'd sure hate to see you either hit something under the pan, or drill holes that don't need to be back there and open yourself up to rest problems or anything like that.

How about these tuffy storeage boxes, what mounting screws/bolts do they use to mount them down ?
The box I have is 11" tall X 13" wide and like 32" long. The rear seat is out. I was wanting to mount the box crossways like 4" from the tailgate. so the softtop will lower in like it should.
the seat bolts/bracket sits outside the storeage box.. I might could bolt the box off them. but would rather have like 4 floor bolts/screws going thru the floor pan in each corner of the storeage box. any ideals
