Question Move seats to let it back passenger

both my front seats are acting up when "tumbling" them forward to let my 7yr old son in to occupy the back seat. the one (driver) tumbles but does not slide forward, the other (passenger) does both but when we put it back it's all the way in the forward position --where it was not before tumbling it.

any way to fix both issues ?

(sorta related, what's the little cylinder tank under the passenger seat for ?

Sounds like the seats are acting exactly as they should, or at least how my '99 Sport always has. The 'cylinder' under my passenger seat is the stock jack used to change tires. A picture would be beneficial to make sure I am speaking about the same thing you have.

The passenger side when i tumble it back all i need to do is slide it back and its back in the original position.
