Moving front bumper

Hey guys,
I just purchased my 03 TJ back in December and i absoliutley love it. There is one thing though... Why does the front bumper have to stick out so far?? I don't plan on rock climbing or doing any "serious" mudding so I don't need the winch space.
Has anyone moved the bumper a few inches closer to the grill before?
I've been looking at front bumper for a while now and even the sleekest bumpers for the TJ still stick out quite a bit. Just wondering!
Thanks fellas!

You can't move the bumper back towards the grill, there is a cross member right behind it.

It can't be moved back any at all without tearing into the frame & moving its front-most crossmember back which would require a few other mods as well. This would also require welding. For most Jeepers, I'd say consider it not doable.
