I apologize for the ID10T comment that was out of line sorry
No problem, I get punchy sometimes and have a tendency to let my fingers run faster than my mind. I understand what you are saying about people jumping to often expensive repair suggestions. Like any problem, it is always best to try to eliminate the cheap, easy fixes, before just throwing money at it hoping that solves the problem. It took alot to break my heavy skinny pedal habit after getting my jeep. I was used to fast cars before joining the jeep world. The most important thing I have learned is that each jeep is different and with all of the variables with different mods it can be hard to narrow down a problem sometimes. And one persons fix may not work for everyone.

Cheers!

My TJ is entirely stock except for 31" BF Goodrich All Terrains. With the 4.0 L and 5-speed manual. Around the city I get 12-14 MPG. On the highway for long treks I was getting better MPG.

It's all about how you drive it.

Absolutely is about how you drive it.. I had the same set up and was getting 18 on avg. When I bumped up to M/T 33s and a 4" lift I still get 15-16.
12-14 with near stock lift is hitting the skinny pedal pretty good. Hope you are at least having fun with it.
