Mud Flaps?

Been kind of toying with the idea of putting mud flaps on the front. My tires extend past the wheel well @ 3" and this slings up a lot of mud and water. Ordinarily, I wouldn't even think about it but since I discovered how much I really enjoy not having doors on it's become a problem.

So, Yea or Nay. Major faux pas or good idea?

I have a set of factory mud flaps that I took off..... Perhaps you'd be interested in less clearance and more plastic stuff to tear up on the trail...

mudflaps are gay-I have factory ones on my Jeep, and just can't wait to get them off-buy some Rubicon or Sahara flares, which are wider,or get some of the really wide aftermarket ones available from Quadratec,or many other suppliers-mudflaps belong on semi-trucks and 1972 Caprice pimpmobiles!

I was looking for a solution to the same problem. I welded some 2x2 1/4 wall tubing to my sliders. Works great. Made steps out of the same stuff. My big bonus was I got rid of the low flying nerf bars when I did this. I. Am posting from my phone so if the pics dont show up ill fix it later tonight. http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/u...o/fe3dac9a.jpg http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/u...o/be59ee2e.jpg

"Hello Kitty" mud flaps may look good on your Jeep, I was thinking more on the lines of "Naked Lady" tactiness!

Thanks for all the replies!

Mud flaps will not help with fliging mud/water in a Jeep with no doors.

Or no top, no windshield, etc.
