? Multi-funcion fog light turn signal switch issue.

2003 - TJ - Fog light switch problem.

Like many, my 'multi' function switch for the fog light on the turn signal switch is shorting out. So, I buy a completely new replacement switch assy. I'm now on my second new switch, and I still can't seem to get the turn signals to work on the new switch.

Question: Is there something about the replacement switch assys that require an updated, or modified, or changed turn signal relay? If it's just a bolt in, bolt out - then why won't my turn signals work?

They, along with everything other than the fog lights - work fine with the original switch.

Help...

Seems I read something on this forum about needing to swap a relay, but I'm not positive. Use the search feature right under where you log in to check. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Replace the relay on the MSF on the steering column.

I have this exact same problem, I am on my second switch and still no turn signals or hazards. So, what is this relay you speak of? How much is this going to run me?

When you put the new unit in, you need to unplug the old relay ( box-like plug in) that operates the turn signals and hazards. The new units don't come with one so you need to make sure to swap it over
