My 2000 TJ Wrangler, what to do next...

Well I've been coming into my own with my Jeep that I have owned for coming on 5 years. Taken her from 67k miles in '07 to around 113k now and have been throwing myself into researching DIY maintenance. My projects now include putting new lining on my hardtop and changing out my exterior full door paddle handles. Nothing too big, but being a starving student I have to prioritize everything as best I can.
Before the handles though I have noticed that the paint on the cowl (right word? It is the exterior vent panel underneath the windshield) has started to chip away from stray rocks taking in the past. It's not rusting, but it looks pretty bad as more and more is starting to come away. I visited a thread through this forum on how to properly remove the cowl, which thankfully isn't hard, and do some touch-up painting.
Now here's the question I pose: any suggestions as to a superior brand paint-preferably in a spray can? I've visited a couple of sites and want to get some suggestions.

Any auto parts store carries factory color match paint in a rattle can.I believe it's a duplicator brand.(autozone) Most important is make sure you prep it well before the topcoat..Sand down to metal since you have deep chips in the paint. Primer, then very lightly final sand before topcoat. Always light vs heavy coats. Add clear coat if needed.
