my fender flares seem wider then normal?

after doing some research all i can find is that some TJs came with wide fender flares but were all painted to match the vehicle. With plastic black ones they aren't supposed to be the wider of the 2 stock fender flares.

Can someone clear this up for me? I haven't seen any other black plastic trims that are as wide as mine.
are they even stock? look to be...

maybe Im crazy? lol

also since Im posting a thread, anyone know what rims i have?

thanks =)

Those are definately aftermarket flares. Can't say who made them though, sorry. You are also correct that the Sahara (painted) flares are 1 inch wider than standard factory flares.

Mine look like those. They are after market. When I got new wheels the back spacing made my wheels stick out to the point that I had to keep my windows rolled up unless I wanted sprayed, even if the roads were just barely damp. With the right backspacing the wide flares look sweet and are functional but look goofy with a stock rim. IMO

I have the same RR extended flares. They stop the excess spray off the road when it's wet.

Well they are not "wider" per se but I did thin them up a little. Will post a thread on the mod later this evening in the build section. H N Y

I went the exact opposite way! I guess state law comes into effect as well. One more reason I love Indiana!

I think those are Bestop's Fender Flares. Popular in states where the law enforcement has less of a sense of humor, or where there are yearly vehicle inspections.

Or maybe you are lucky and they are Warn's 6 or 7" but quite a few places make 6 and 7" that look like wide OE flares . I use 8" wheels w/3.75 and a 12.50 tire which puts the tread at the edge of the flare . NJ says we have to but thats as far as I go I am not installing mud flaps 3/4 the way to the ground like they want . It will be for sale first .
