MY latest tj problem. a/c wont blow?

ok so all winter the switch was kinda sketchy. it would be on low and it would blow higher than if it were on high.

now it only blows very very little. its hot or cold however you choose.

is this a common jeep problem? Is it the A/c control unit?

Try looking for threads on the heater blower resistor. I have a similar-ish problem my AC and heat only work on lowest and highest (fan) levels, from what I've seen it's common and the new resistor should fix it. I haven't tried it yet because I'm lazy but I hope it helps.

I have the same problem. It's either on low. Or full blast. Low for three of the settings.

I would run a jumper from the battery and ensure the blower motor will work it is relatively easy access to pull the motor and move out under the hood by battery to check. Don't worry about speeds that is in the switches/resistor. and don't run it long time just enough to be sure it works.

I replaced mine last fall.

If you take the blower motor out (very easy to do) and get two pieces of wire and "jump" them from your battery you can "test" to make sure that your blower motor is coming on every time it gets current.

I "attach" the wires more securely to the battery so they won't come off. And the ground from the battery, to the plug side of ground on the motor. Than I only have the positive to worry about and it is easy to touch to positive on the plug for just a second and see if motor kicks on.

I am assuming you have a couple of old pieces of wire that you can use for the jumpers? It is something that I have and keep in the tool box makes easy to check lights bad bulbs, for shorts, or bad grounds, or like here blower motors.

Good Luck

ok problem fix.

i removed the switch yesterday and tried jumping it but i got nothing.

then i removed the fan jumped to the battery and it kicked like crazy.

i called up everyparts store and non of them had the switch so i called up the dealership and they had it for 30.00 (24.00 military discount)

i just installed it and why do you know. problem fixed.
