I am losing faith in this forum.

2.5" of lift. 32-11.50-15"s and stock rims do not go.

Front tires rub when turning all the way. Not really an issue. Can still drive it.

Rear tires that are snug against the spring are an issue... one that caused me to drive all the way there... get the tires mounted... and have them unmounted and back to stock.

not necessary to go back to stock. just adjust your steering stops. i know for sure theres a good write up on 4x4xplor.com its either that, spacers, or rims with less backspacing. its not the height of the tire giving you trouble its the width. easy fix, adjusting the steers stops is like 10 bucks at a hardware store, and 30 min of your time..

That was not the issue... my tire in the rear was against the spring... tight.

So I have a set of 1.5" spacers on the way untill I have room in my budget for some good rims that have bead lockers.

I had the same prob when I had a 2" lift with 32's on the stockers. Bought a set of soft 8's (5 for 200 shipped) and had no probs. BTW, Your Jeep is looking great.

Thanks to all

Reguardless of what anyone says... including me... the forum is an invaluable source of info.

I am pretty new at Jeeps... but have had the misfortune of being a mechanic for many years. I can't stop adding the goods to my toys. And we have all been there... my parts aint here yet... it don't fit... won't stop breaking... it's the wrong one... or the classic I don't know WTF is going on with this thing.

Just wanna make sure in the midst of my whining... I make sure to let you guys know that your imput is a F'n must

Took 4 days to install 4 springs and shocks...
Took a few more days for the tires to catch up to me
Took another day to find out they are not going to work as is

So here I am... with a Bud Light

My Budget Rig

I built this Jeep with one thing in mind... a northeastern Ohio winter. Sometimes we get only a tease of snow. Other times we don't go to work for a day or two. I wanted to be able to make it down any street here. My jeep was not bad last year, but I worried on a few occations. And could not make it into my driveway for a few days. This year, I am prepaired.

oh you'll love the winter with this fellah. Here we had few bad snow storms last winter and my rig had no problem in 2 feet of snow with 40-50 mph

Yeah... last year the snow was over the bumper in unplows areas. Locker and a winch would really be a good touch, along with some lights front and back.

Here she is

I have taken her through some mud, rocks, inclines... and I am happy with her. I have to say I am pleased with the ride and performance. Nothing beats a good set of tires.

Good to see you worked things out and got them squared away.

I would suggest if you are unsure about something in the future to post up your ideas before you buy anything to avoid any unforseen issues. For example, your tires. I was reading the previous posts and did not see where you were asking the forum for advice on 11.5" wide tires on stock rims but reflected your frustration towards the forum.

Unless you ask, people assume you know what you are doing. We are here to help, but you need to speak up too.

Good luck with your new Jeep.

Very true for on the street. That's why in heavy snow areas like Alaska, North Dakota, Buffalo NY, etc. you see Jeeps on tall pizza-cutter tires that more easily cut down through several inches of snow to the pavement below. It's only on deep offroad snow where you want big fat tires for flotation to stay on top of the snow.

http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/kick...lly-21731.html

I started a thread about it.

Oh I know there are better tires out there for snow. I wanted something a little more, all terrain. That has some looks to it. I don't have to worry much about snow like Alaska lol... I live in Ohio mon, rite neer dee beetch. We get some lake effect, but I do like to go in the mud.

For a mud tire they are in my opinion great in snow.
