My New 2002 4.0L TJ

Just signed the paperwork on this tonight...$11,500 + tax and all the document fees and crap like that.

So what do you folks think I should do? The top is showing its age so I'm going to save up some extra cash and get a new one. Debating if I wanna go with the same color or black...I prefer black but it won't match the interior then.

Also considering dechroming it all and going all black...

But I wanna hear your thoughts...if this were your Jeep, what would you do?

This is my daily driver so until it's paid off, I won't be doing any big lifts or giant tires...but I do like the size they have on it now (31x10.5R15). They give it a nice tough stance, but not so huge that the highway ride/gas mileage sucks...okay, well the gas mileage sucks anyway...but it doesn't suck as much as it could. LOL

I'm thinking a nice front bumper (black) with a brush guard and eventually a winch, would look good too. Once it's paid off, I will seriously be contemplating turning it into an off-road rig/summer cruiser...and buying a decent mpg car for my daily driver.

Congratulations on the new Jeep! It is definitely sharp. Those 31's will work just fine for you anywhere you want to go too. As for the top, I like the two tone look for the contrast, but that is all opinion - it will look just fine either way.

Have fun with it!

Looks Great! A black top would look good too I think. My Jeep is white, dark khaki top and a tan interior.

Thanks folks! Yeah...I did the whole chrome thing with my truck for a while and after about 6 months it got old and went back to stock. All but the wheels

Any advice on the best places for affordable aftermarket parts...Quadratec looks good, but not always cheap. What do you guys recommend?

Also...dumb question...this is the first 5 speed I've owned and while I drive manual tractors at work all the time their clutches combined with the big diesel engines aren't so touchy on hills. What's the easiest way to take off on a steep hill without rolling backwards...and without cheating and using the parking brake to hold you in place? Heel-toe the brake and the gas or these engines got enough power to let the clutch hold it from rolling back while you slowly let off the brake and give it gas?

I like it! Good luck with the whole leave it stock for now plan.

I bought my 04 last November and it too came with 31's. Happy with them for now but plans have already been made. I have built my own bumpers and am currently installing a cage that should have been done a loooonnnnggg time ago but I have been lazy.
