My new to me 2004 rubicon

Wanted to post a few pics of my new to me 2004 rubicon 5speed. I picked it up off the original owner with 81k on it for 13grand. Never off road and if you saw it you would believe it. He said he bought it because it was the nicest wrangler they had on the lot. Its bone stock other than bushwacker trail armor, nerf bars and motto metal 951 wheels with new stock size pittbull growlers. It also has a sunrider top off of a 2006 tj.

I like the wheels on the jeep but i kinda wish he still had the moabs for it. The goofy plastic stuff on its all faded and id like to take it off if the scratches from it will buff out. For now i ordered a $60 2in bb for it. This summer i wanna go to 4in with 33s but for now the pittbulls will do. First order of buisness is detailing it and touching up the frame before winter because the previous owner thought he knew how to detail a car and was sadly mistaken.

First thing I thought when I saw it was that you need a lift...Sounds like you are already on it

^ x2 definitely needs a lift with those tires or you can kiss your flares good bye the first time you climb over something.

Looks kinda strange with the "diamond plate pieces" on it. Are they plastic or metal? Hope you enjoy your Rubi as much as I do mine.

I was going to get rims like that but didn't think they would look good on my Jeep (same exact color). I was so F'ing wrong. That's alot of "diamond plate". But I do like it on the front bumper. Very nice though. Good luck and enjoy.

Very nice. If you do end up takin it off and decide not to keep it would you be interested in 'donating' it to a fellow jeeper that would like it?

The 2inch BB for $60 is probably 2inch polly pucks ... that's what I have on my Jeep ... they work.

thats because the ones you're looking at include proper bumpstops and longer shocks...like they're supposed to. $60 in pucks will "work"...depending on your definition of "work".

The kit i ordered is just 2in spacers but it was $60 and im just running it till next summer so i didnt see the point in getting one with shocks and bumpstops. My friend has had the same settup with 31s and disconnects on his tj for 2yrs now and it has worked very well for him.

Nice, congrats on your rubi. Looks just like my 05. You will be impressed on how capable of a rig it is for being stock. I have 2" bb on mine and I like how it turned out. I am with you though eventually I am stepping up to a 4.5 RE lift. Have fun!!

Not too shabby. Good price even if it is covered with "diamond plate".

If you haven't already, you should look into the Locker bypass switch. That's the first mod I did. I think I have the link around here somewhere....
