My RE 3.5 Installed!!! (Pic's Inside)

Well after a late night last night we got it finished and it wasn't to bad. I still have a few loose ends I need to address but I think it turned out well and it looks good. I have some light vibrations but I think it will be fine when I get the Sye put on.

I will take some better pic's when the sun comes out I wash it and get the top and doors off!!!

Hope you guys like it!

Slight vibrations? Your kidding? I couldn't take mine up above 15mph before the whole thing shook... unless you already have a t-case drop.

Look good though.

It is a little rough starting off not bad tho. It smothes out real nice around 40-50 I haven't had it above that yet.

I also haven't installed the t-case drop but wouldn't that only be a factor if I engaged 4wheel?

No... the t-case drop is used to align the rear driveshaft.

Looks real good. I just did the same lift. It shook like crazy, so I just put in the SYE. What size rims do you have, and what backspacing did you get? Also who makes them. It looks sick!

Thanks I got the T-case drop kit installed and I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but it took away pretty much all of my vibes and it drives and rides great. I still have to put the correct spacers on the sway bar end links which for some reason did not come with my kit. They should be here next week. The rims are Dick Cepek 15x8 3.65 with Mickey Thompson Baja Claw 33x12.50's

Looks great.......
Did the lift come to exactly 3.5 inches or was it like mine and end up way more?
( pretty much 5 inches) and had to swap to a SYE.

I just put one in my Jeep as well, and that is exactly what I was thinking. It looks higher than 3.5. How do you measure (from where to the ground)? I have now put on the SYE and the Rear Upper Control Arms (adjustable). It is well worth the money. My Jeep runs 75% quieter, and it is smooth as butter. It rides better than my wifes Jeep with a 2" budget boost. Amazing difference. Highly recommend the SYE and Rear UCA if you can swing the cost.

What is HnT? Where did you measure from to determine the height of your lift??

HnT = Hack n Tap

It's where you cut the slip spline from the rear of the driveshaft mount on a custom bracket and change it from a slip yoke to a fixed output yoke.

Here is a pic of the HnT :

Full Spline Replacement Kit:

Link to a install I found which explains it better.
http://www.dpgoffroad.com/tech/rubiconsye.htm

I haven't measured mine yet but I would say measure a staocker from the bottom of the door then measure yours that would give you a good idea with lift/tires.

Oh ... I did a Full Spline Replacement. I didn't know about a HnT. What are the benefits of an HnT? I have a friend who may want to do it.

any issue with DW? I put the exact same kit on mine with the adjustable trac bars (front and rear) and when I put on my 33's all hell breaks loose. I can only run my stock tires and now I am developing a slight shimmy with those too.

Jack, if it starts to wobble when you put on the 33s then have them balanced and checked for runout. If they balance perfect (not good - PERFECT) then there is a high chance you have a bent or an egg shaped rim. Most DW problems come from badly balanced wheels. The shop tells you its great when in fact they dont feel like making it perfect.
