My TJ for a YJ

So I'm thinking about trading my 2003 TJ for a 1992 YJ.
Mine has the 4.0 auto, 3" Zone lift, soft top and pretty much stock besides that.
The YJ has a Chevy small block in it with what looks like a Ford 9" rear end and a Dana 44 front sitting on 35" boggers.
I was planning on doing the V8 swap on my jeep but found this one and the guy said he would trade even up, I am giving him the stock tires and keeping my 33's and rims.
What do you guys think, good deal or not?
Here is the link for the YJ Trade for TJ Wrangler or classic ride
going to look at it tomorrow or Thurs I hope.
Just looking for advice.

I think your jeep is worth more than the 7k he is asking for. Go in with cash and buy his for 6k, then sell your jeep for 10-12k. Or try to get him to throw in that 56 chevy truck that is parked in the garage.

IDK man, a even trade for a (I assume) properly built Jeep is so enticing. I've only ever considered trading for a CJ 5/7/8. I'm not a big YJ man myself.

Shoe makes a good point, but the guy only wants to trade I believe.

Yeah, he only wants to trade right now.
My problem is, I need to regear my axles or put different stronger axles under my jeep. My goal was to make it a trail rig with a V8 at some time. It just happened that he is looking for what I have and he has pretty much what I am looking for. It looks really clean for the year, mine has some rust.
IDK, think I will just check it out and see if I like it.

He's got what you need, you've got what he wants. I'd just say "What the hell."

Do it, and if you regret it, you could always just sell it and get another TJ.

I would never go from a coil spring suspension to a leaf spring.
Just jeep your jeep and work on it slowly yourself. It will be much more satisfying to do the work yourself and you will also learn a lot when upgrading it
Also, in picture 21 it looks like its sagging on the left side. Since its so heavily modified you don't know if those mods were done right or half assed. I wouldn't take the chance if I were you.

Small block conversions in YJs are very common. Are you planning to DD it, or weekend toy? She'd be extremely thirsty for a DD. Unless your jeep has a ridiculous amount of miles, rust, or is ragged out I don't see you coming out on top on that deal. Go for it if that's what you want, but I wouldn't be afraid to ask for $$$ on top or some other trade to sweeten the deal.

I saw your jeep for sale/trade here in St. Augustine a few times in my search... Nice looking jeep man.

Back on topic.
That jeep is clean looking, I dont think you have anything to lose in checking it out. Personally I shopped around for the most un-touched jeep I could find, but if you're mechanically inclined to dig into someones POSSIBLE mess go for it! I say possible because as stated above, who knows what was done incorrectly. Or you could find a gem and everything done perfect. Check it out!

If I were to put a 5.2 v8 in my jeep with dana 44's, how much would it run. Debating if I should just do a build myself. would 3-4 grand do it?
