Red face Need advice! :)

First of all- Hi everyone!

I have a 89 Sahara Yj that is a toy and
Ive been thinking of things that I want to do to it.
Up to this point the engine has been rebuilt, Put bigger tires on it, pulled out the backseat bench, rebuilt the carburetor, replaced U joints, Replaced gas hose, new windshield, and some other stuff I cant remember right now. oh and I'm also ordering a new cadillic (sp?) converter today to replace because it failed Co2 emissions.

And in the near future..
-4in lift
-33'' swampers
-Paintjob, Bedline the entire jeep in/out (any brand suggestions?)

Basicially I'm wondering what else I could do to my jeep to make it look/work better.

also- what is the best brand bedliner for the gritty look, and also if i can make it a different color? Would you paint over the original sahara look or leave it alone?

Thanks :]

One of the pictures I took from google. Mudding pic is mine

haha welcome to

Unfortunately ya put your Jeep in the wrong section. Your 1989 is a Jeep Wrangler YJ, which is the reason why you see all of ours running coil springs instead of leaf springs.

I'm sure a mod will come in to move it to the correct forum for ya. Just a guide though

1987 - 1995 - YJ Jeeps
1997 - 2006 - TJ Jeeps
2007 - Present - JK Jeeps

CJs came before the YJ but aren't Wranglers (still gorgeous). There's no 1996 model year for the Wrangler, it's either a 95 or a 97 YJ/TJ.

That being said, you're Jeep is still great looking. I would recommend leaving the Sahara paint job. It's unique, a premium, and I personally like the color. Definitely would get into a bigger lift. Just please don't do a 4" body lift or else we'll all scold you. For bedliner, most people just use herculiner.
It's got a Willy's body, a Chevy engine, Ford axles, GM transmission, and Dodge steering components... it must be a Wrangler.

bedliner - just depends how deep your pockets are. (aka how much do you want to spend.).

Where in Texas? in the larger cities (and East TX in general) there are quite a few Jeep clubs, join a few. there will be more than a few people willing to help out as needed, and you may get to see some mods before you decide on exactly what you want to do.

well theres no problem with getting a 4" lift, just don't get a 4" BODY lift. You will be praised for choosing a Suspension lift kit on this forum lol.. and welcome to the forum

A 4" lift on a leaf sprung Jeep will cause it to ride harshly. I'm not saying it can't or shouldn't be done, just what the consequences are. As stated above check around with other YJ owners have done before you do to much. The YJ forum will be a big help.

Several of my friends have put Rhino Liner in. The military even uses it so I would think you could depend on it. Btw...I'm from Ft. Worth too.

Mine is Rhino Lined and it's great. Worth every penny! I used 2033 Motorsports in Weatherford and they did a good job.

Ive heard from many people that they prefer U Pol Raptor, or you can try Monstaliner which Ive heard good reviews about. Also catalytic was the word youre looking for and yes YJ section is where you should be = )
