Question need advice TJ soft top choice

I get a TJ tomorrow, but it has half doors and no top.

Can somebody advise a good inexpensive soft top thye used and liked?

I plan to get doors and a hardtop later, that's why inexpensive is ok.

Pavement Ends makes inexpensive tops.

Check the "For Sale" areas on the various forums. There are plenty of them out there in good/great condition. That's where I got my slightly used Viking soft top!

EDIT: Where in SoCal are you?

Thanks for the help!

Steelman, I'm in south Mission Viejo. and your Viking top looks cool! but does it work well? I'm guessing it's more stowable than the factory top, right?

You'll likely find that although the HT is very nice to have (and I made sure I had one), you'll find youself wanting the ST on more often b/c you have the ability to quickly drop it and then close up if you get caught in unexpected weather. Just something to keep in mind.

I'd browse craigslist and some forums for a used one like steel said.

Yeah, even if you DO have a hard top, I would store the soft top in the Jeep just in case.

I got the Rugged Ridge off ebay (cheaper than anything else I found). alot thinner than the stock or best top ones. however it gets the job done and I haven't had any problems with it yet. X3 on the craigslist and for sale posts.

You're right up the 5 from me (I'm in San Juan Capistrano). Maybe we can meet up sometime, and you can take a look at the top if you want.

The Viking top works great. Definitely more stowable than the factory top, as it uses the roll bar for a frame, so no frame to worry about. Simple Scout can weigh in on this top as well.
Unfortunately, the production of these tops is on temporary hold, but I hear that they may start making them again towards the end of the year. I was fortunate enough to find a guy that "knows people"...he had two of these tops, and sold me one.

Demand is probably weighing in big time on that top. My new Bestop sailcloth replacement (ordered & received this month) has factory markings from 10 06 06. So if Bestop has them sitting for almost a year one can only immagine a less known top doesn't have a high demand.
