Need bumpstops or anyting else?

All,

I was given a RC 2.5" lift. I know I have heard good and lots of bad about this lift, but... it is what I have for now. I will not be doing much wheeling for now so I plan on installing it.

Is there anything else I need to purchase before install.. bumpstops, ect....... I'm really new to this.

I already have TC drop

Thanks, need to know soon, plan on installing this weekend.

Yes you will other wise depending on the size oof you tires you'll either rip a fender off of bottom out your shocks. Are you using the RC shocks?

Great info, but being a newb it was very distressing. I know I need to read and learn, which I will, but an easier answer like " 1" front 1.5" rear " would have made my day, I realize it all has to do with so much more after reading the info. Now I need to become a Jeep scientist to figure all this stuff out. Why can't these manufacturers have info on there sites that explain what you need for this particular kit if you run XX x XX tires. Sure would make life simpler.

you said your not gonna do much wheeling right now so dont worry about the bumpstops yet, do the instal and read up on bumpstops then do them..i have the same lift on 31" tires..havent done anything to my bumpstops and off road a lot, have never had a tire touch the fender....prob bottoming out the shocks though...oh well good excuse to get some OME ones like Invert ;]

Read read read and ask plenty of questions and you'll figure it out. There isn't a straight answer as its all dependent on a handful of factors. I was told to go 2" front and rear by Dirk at DPG but I have different shocks than you. Once I get them on I'm going to see if I can cut them down a little.

That's what I did lol. I think I wrecked my shocks by using them as bumpstops at Rausch. The tires didn't rub though! I'm making sure not to mess up my OME ones!

tell us the compressed shock length front and rear, then we can give you an approximate estimate of how much bumpstop extension you need front and rear.

but until you give us compressed shock length, we have nowhere to start.

and no, its not hard to figure out & you don't need to be scientist. you just need to crawl under your jeep, look at what everything is doing and get a basic understanding of geometry.

Thanks for all the replies. It will get clearer with time and maybe someday I will be able to give some Newb like me advice.
