Are they rusted? past repair? If possible best is to take them off and sand and paint them... They wll look brand new and if u want paint them black or w.e. or rocker guard them...

im guessing they are past repair since i went to remove the nut that holds the door in place and it broke off in my hand so i have been somewhat afraid to keep going since they may not go back on

That nut breaking off is actually pretty common on doors that have not been off in a long time. The post the door hangs on is much tougher. I would try removing the doors before I went out and bought some new hinges. I think you will be surprised that they are not as bad as you think.

Never had to do it personally, but I would imagine you could get bolts that would slip thru the hinges, add some nuts and go from there.

Wait a min hold on......... Your all saying your bolts screw into the body? Mine screw into a cheap peice of sheet metal exposed inside the cabin.

No, use the bolts as hinge pins.

I literally just did the same thing. Went to see about removing the doors and the first bolt head broke off on the first tug of the socket wrench. Not really sure how to go about getting them off from there lol. However, I'd imagine you can pretty easily find some bolts that match fairly easily.
