Need GOOD Vin Decoder Website

My 2004 Wrangler Unlimited was just totaled last week. The adjuster is supposed to call me with an offer Friday. One insurance person that has contacted me already, thought the Jeep was a regular Wrangler, not a Unlimited LJ. I googled for a vin checker, entered the vin #, and sure enough it said Wrangler Sport with no mention of Unlimited. -------- Any help or a vin checker site that has more complete info would help me if you can. Worried the adjuster may make the same mistake.

Go to the jeep site and ask for a build sheet. They'll send it out the same day if its during business hours.
Sorry to hear about your jeep.
Hopefully everyone involved is ok.

Go to the jeep website. Register your vehicle (takes 2 minutes) You can get your build sheet RIGHT THERE on the website. No emails, no calls, no waiting on the mail. It's available online, takes probably 5 minutes to be looking at it.

Click "create account"

Add vehicle. Put the VIN and date of purchase in. Done.

@golden... i tried your link as well. I'm at work so i'm not sure if certain things are filtered, but don't see a spot on the Jeep site for the VIN (aside from the recall bulletin page)

No, the vin decoder does not have gear info. You have to get the build sheet from Chrysler for detailed information based on your vin.

If you list your year I can show you what the vin decoder chart shows for your year.

From the jeep side, go to the "owners" tab, and go to the "owners site/log in" drop down. Or use the link I posted above. I've done my jeep and just checked again and it hasn't changed so I know it works. Or message me your vin and I'll look for you if you feel comfortable with that.
