need help from the experts: bearings

So on my way home last night i start hearing an unsual sound from the engine. Never heard something like it before so once i get home i ask my dad to take a listen. He says it sounds like a bearing.

I have no idea how to begin checking, or where at considering theres probably a lot of bearings in an engine. So whats the most common place for a bearing to go bad at? I have a 4.0
