As stated, I think you have to get the mode switch from a parts store; the dealer doesn’t supply it separately.

The rocker tab seen in the photo in post 14 should be the release. Pushing in on that should release the connector but the terminals, especially if burnt, can hold on pretty tight. Also if the plastic is melted the 2 parts may be stuck together. Try sliding a knife up between the switch & connector along the far edge of the switch. There is a tab that guides the connector. The flap that is pulled back shown in post 20 is what releases the terminals. With that back like it is in the photo you should be able to pull each wire out one at a time. Then you can touch the middle one to the black one to see if the fan runs (key on). You should also be able to get the connector off the switch with the terminals out. If the terminals don’t look burnt & all fit on the switch terminals tightly then you can re-insert them into the connector & close the flap to lock them in place & reuse the connector.

Here is a link to a thread that has the wiring diagram you need. It’s a ’99 but same as yours:

Here is a link that shows the switch. You can see the tab that may be melted to your connector in post 9:

Check with the dealer for the mode switch, it may be the fan speed switch which is not sold separately. Not sure about that. There is a "pigtail" harness for the HVAC panel according to other posts I've seen.

The mode switch is available. I picked one up on ebay and it was a mopar part. The dealer will have a pigtail kit for the connector.
