need help on 2.5L engine replacement

If you have read my prior posts, I am needing to replace the 2.5L engine in my 98 TJ. I have found a good deal on one, but it is from a 94 YJ. Would there be any issues in using that engine? It is fuel injected, and I would imagine it would be the same block. It would come iwth the harness and ECM, but I do not think I would need to replace them. Any help is appreciated.

I have been told I would need to replace the head on the engine in order to get the ECM working. Does anyone know if this is the case? All help is appreciated. Thanks

i don't know your situation but if my motor went out i kinda feel that i would go ahead and upgrade to a 4.0 straight 6 or even a 4.3 GM v6 motor to get some more power.

I was kind of thinking along the lines of Lugnut. Is there a specific reason you are wanting to stay with the 4cyl? Seems like the perfect time for an upgrade.

I am looking to stay with the 2.5 just for ease and timing of hte change. I will probably upgrade the engine in a few years, but the wrangler needs to get on the road quickly and inexpensively. I have another lead on another engine from a 93, does anyone know how much I would need to change over?
