Need help. Shock absorber advice.

I bought my 2004 rubicon about a year ago, and the bushing is gone in my right rear. I know they should generally be replaced in pairs, and I've been looking on RockAuto Auto Parts which is a cheap place to get any stock parts. They offer lift kits and parts for lifted vehicles, but I am kind of stuck and need advice before I order.

I am looking at some "rancho" shocks, and have a 4" lift. I can't seem to find any shocks for a 4" lift though. Would a 3.5" lift shock work, or a 5" shock? I don't wanna screw anything up, and don't know what to order. Any info would greatly help.

Thanks, Jeff.

Well, some shocks wont tell you the size for the lift. You need to determine that based off of the lengths. I would recommend OME,fox, bilstein or even bds. Replace all 4 while your at it, improved ride quality.

Build thread or it didn't happen

go with a 5" and compress it slightly. 1 " longer is better than .5" short, the shocks obviously wear and start sagging. I feel like rancho should have the right shock or call a company who carries them and ask what is better. I put the ranchos on a month ago, and "WOW!" What a difference. I got them because of the responses to them on this website. hope this helps

Ranchos website breaks them out by lift height. I love my 9000s. I just ordered another set when I upgraded the lift.
2000 Sahara, 3.5" Rubicon Express Lift, 1" spring spacer & 1" Body Lift, 33" or 35" BFG Mud tires, Front & Rear ARB, Rancho 9000 shocks, UCF Ultra High Belly Up, Savvy gas tank skid.
