However last time i was a little agrivated once he handed me a citation. Both for the citation and the fact he let us ( wife, 10yr old daughter and i ) sit in the parkin lot with lights on us for 15 mins as of we were criminals. My daughter was quite embarrased. Completley ruined a family outting. I still didnt act disrespectful rather questioned his opinion on the doors and compared it to a motorcycle. He got cocky and told me my tires are still out past the body and he could get me for that too. I reminded him what said on theast stop and he said they were still out past the body and if i didnt contact the magistrat he Will pull my licence and issue a warrant then said good bye.
Wow....sorry you had to go through that. Totally out of line.

Sounds like he has it in for you a jerk with a badge
The only thing he should have got you for was the tires .
Supertrooper jerk off
I'd bring it up that this guy is watching for you 1 time yea 3 times same guy something is wrong

One thing to help build the case is to see if a Wrangler can be (or "could have been" in the case of a TJ) custom ordered directly from Jeep without doors.

"Doors off AND windows down" the key word is "and". If it said OR it would be different. I would think that since the doors have large stickers on them that says that they are only protection from the elements, then you should still have a case. I'm no lawyer though.

My bad. That is what it refers too. On the next page it states if you wish to remove the doors you need "by federal law" mirrors an to see mu dealer for relocation cowl mounts to move them. Also states in the beginning under safe operation not to take sudden tirns that the jeep is a "open body " vehicle and does not offer the same structual saftey a closed vehicle does.

Im headed to the magistrate after work and pleading NOT guilty! And we'll take it from there. Keep the info coming guys. Iv never fought a ticket before and id like to be well informed and ready come "judgement day"

It's not just Jeeps. PA is full of a bunch of legal BS. I just left there and never plan to return to live. You must be thinking of the eastern part of the state with fast drivers though. Jeep content: lots of great, legal off-roading in SW PA!

Yep. Don't forget Rausch creek in eastern pa though. There are tons of parks spread across the state if you live in the right area it's great.

Green I remember your last post about the tires, I really hope put this jerkoff in his place at court. He needs to learn not go around looking for people to pick on over BS.

Real nice guy. Joked and laughed a bit when i gave him the story. Actually joked with me bought haveing the doors on while i was there cuz it was pouring out side. Wish me luck and please if anyone has advice or info that will help me case let me know. Post, Pm or email

UPS drivers drive all over the state with their doors open. If it were illegal, they would not do it, their HRDoor open door off same thing.

I lost. Have to pay $111 and keep my doors on. Judge said 1st sentence in vehicle code pa175.77(f) says it all. Vehicle must have doors. However suggested seeking a decision from a higher court or petitioning

I dont know how exactly petitioning things work. Dont know how to start one or where to go from there. Im not a political kinda guy. Id just like for us to join forces and get this fixed.

However time is really tight for me right now. I just started night classes to further my education and i am in the process of changing careers. Leaving a job Ive been at for 13 yrs to go back into welding and fab work. Not to mention family at home and archery season started. Im going to put things on hold till i finish night classes and settle into my new career. Hate to put it off but right now my energy is needed else where.

Ps
Please keep thread clear of cop/ trooper/ law enforcment bashing. Thats not what i wanted out of these threads. It definatley does nothing for our case or our image. Thank you!!!
