I have a 99 Wrangler Sport that has major chassis rust and basically needs a new chassis. Its too big a project for me, so I unfortunately have to sell. If someone could get a rolling chassis and do the work, they'd have themselves a nice jeep. The body is in great shape and it has 90K original miles. Located in NJ.
Any opinions on what price range I should be asking for this jeep? I never sold a jeep project before so I'm not sure what to ask. Any ideas? Thanks!
As a NJ resident, it's somewhat difficult to find a decent frame.
I purchased my TJ with 250k on the odometer, and while the frame was patched, its in good shape for the most part. I paid $2500, and that was for a functional jeep.
With only 90k on the clock, I would think you could probably get $2500 for the right buyer if it doesn't have many other problems, otherwise I think you'd get $2k best. South Jersey would be a better bet for a buyer than North Jersey (other than the Northwest - north of 78 and west of 287). I live in North East Jersey, and haven't seen many project builds sell easily. Also, there's just not enough room for many in the northeast portion of the state to really work on a jeep, let alone the many asshole HOAs up here not allowing a project car in the driveway for months at a time (YMMV, but that's what I've noticed in a lot of HOA agreements - The boonies of south jersey generally don't have as many restrictions).
