Very sluggishly without 4.88 re-gears.

My 4.0L lost a little going from 31x10.5 to 33x12.5 and I currently have 3.73 gearing. The biggest loss is at higher gears up ANY type of grade. I would imagine a 4banger would really suffer high gears.

Mine goes 75mph with a 4 banger 3 speed auto 3.73 gears. I want 4.55 or higher for more power. ITS RAINING OUTSIDE! Finally mud will be there!

Tobycat you're excited about the mud!

I have 3.73 and so far I have noticed only a little difference in acceleration with my 33s. I drive a steep mountain hill every morning to work. I'll be able to give feedback then.

Its not that bad at all. very do-able, and worth having the bigger tires. Only real downside is driving in 2nd gear to go over 60-65 or up any hill and maintain the same speed.
