Need help with tires and lift.

Ok my dad got an 06 wrangler x with original tires and 25k miles on it a few moths ago. it already had a pro-comp steering stabilizer on it. He wants to do about a 2.5 inch lift as well as some new wheels and tires. Im looking to get either 31s, 32s, or 33s but i see alot of problems with them rubbing. i want to avoid wheel spacers and am a total noob to backpacing. How are yall running bigger tires with no rubbing?

I'm having problems now with 32's and 4" of lift. My solution is going to be to invest in rims with more backspacing then the rims I have now..

I have a 2.5 inch lift with 31's currently and I've had a 2 inch lift with 32's. Never had any rubbing on either Jeeps. If you get the right backspacing you shouldn't have any issues.

I'm running 33's on stock 15 x 8 Ravine wheels with the 1.5" Spider spacers. It works Great !

You'll be dealing with rub 2 ways. With height and width. Best way to address width is to stick with a 33 10.50. Best way to deal with height is to run a 1" bl with the 2.5 lift, with a motor mount lift. This will help with driveline angles as well.

The body lift and motor mount lift help to cock the back of the transmission down toward the rear axle and reduce the rear drive line angles that can sometimes cause vibrations and premature wear. It'll also allow the clearance of the 33" height. With a 2.5 and factory wheels you can probably go with a 32 11.50 with no real issues.

I ran a 2" spacer lift and a 1" bl with 33 12.50's on 15x8's
You may be able to find the 33's cheaper than 32's and spend the money saved on some spidertrax spacers. That way you can still fill out the wheel well when you decide to go taller.

I have 3.25" lift with 33x1250x15 Duratracs on Cragar Soft8's which I believe have 3.75" of backspacing. I have no rubbing issues but I'm not an offroader either... If I were an offroader I'd add 1.25 body lift for extra flex clearance..
