TC lever on a JK isn't threaded, so I attached it with JB weld. Auto shifter button wasn't as easy, but it can be done.

I got a shifter Knob from Pep Boys. I liked how it looked and felt. However I had to remove it. It was only held on my three little set screws and kept coming loose. I will have to figure out something, because I really liked it.

no. It uses three small Allen screws. I sawed off the threaded end of the stick shift, stuck it on with a rubber cap that came under it and tightened it down... sucker hasn't moved.

The shift knob in my old truck was mounted the same way and it held tight for 11 years.

Not original but i got this off of ebay. If feels good in my hand as it is a little bigger than the stock shifter knob.

This is mine. It was a bobble head. I filled it with "bumper repair", drilled a hole and screwed it on

Is there some trick in taking off your old shifter knob? I have an 01 TJ w/manual trans. It seems like it should just twist off? Don't see a set screw. I was thinking about getting a Hurst T handle shifter knob.

The center of the knob is actually a cap. Use a flat head screwdriver to pop out the cap (be sure you want to replace the knob because this will destroy it.) There's a nut underneath that cap. Loosen and remove.

You won't destroy it when you heat it up a little and/or circle the screwdriver a bunch of times around the cap to soften up the material. Then pop it out.

That makes sense. I tried to fiddle with that center cap with a flat head screwdriver but it seemed like I was gonna break it so I stopped! Always good advice on here. Thanks.

I got the pool ball from the guy on here that sells them. Most comfortable shift knob ever! Some of the ones on this thread look cool but probably suck for comfort. I had a grenade on there before the pool ball that looked badass, but was horribly uncomfortable.

I didn't want to buy the $47 baseball shift knob from the internet so I drilled a hole in a spare one I had and filled it with 2 part Epoxy.drilled and tapped and fits like a glove. slightly larger then a pool ball but still nice in the palm. Added bonus: you can practice your pitch grips while driving/at a stop light...knuckle ball, curve, 4 seam fastball, etc.
