Need input quickly on axle set up!!

currently running a D30&35..with 3.07's ive found a D30&35 with 4.88 and Aussie lockers F/R for $1200 OBO ive offered 1K and he sounds like he will take it...are they worth that? they are out of a 97 wrangler, he said they were still under his jeep with new brakes and seals etc..they are pretty far from me so i cant go look at them but am waiting on some pics. are they worth 1K? by the time i buy carriers, gears, install kits, etc i will have close to that w/o the lockers.
I know 4.88are pretty low i was wanting 4.10 or 4.56's but can live with the 4.88's (very little interstate driving)

Does the dana 35 have stock axle shafts or has it been upgraded?

Only if it has a super 35 kit in it, is the only way it's worth anything.

Jump on it!

4.88's with a 4.0 and an AX15 will give you 60MPH at 2500 rpms....IF you have 35's.... I know cause that's what I got.

Highway is high rpm sucking the gas... BUT.. in the sand or mud.... BWAAAAA you are the king.

A locked 35 will not last long I dont care how light you are on it.

Now if its a super 35, you should jump on it.

IMO locked 4:88s in an LP30 housing and stock 35 are asking for broken shafts

heres the ad...
I have the stock axles under my TJ with 4.88 Yukon gears (installed professionally), Aussie lockers front and rear (installed professionally), less than 3K miles on the brakes all the way around, steering linkages, and all new seals less than 3K miles ago. These axles have aprox. 87K miles on them. No damage or problems at all, just looking to upgrade. These axles are currently under my Jeep and running perfectly.

I have over $1500 in parts and labor (which isn't factoring in the value of the axles themselves) so I would like to get around $1200obo for the pair.

The price is with stock diff. covers and steering linkage.

If you want the HD diff covers and HD steering linkage it will be and additional $300

Seems pretty spendy, I would only give about $200 for the rear and $400 for the front at best. The gearing would be real nice, and if you aren't going to beat on it too hard, it might work for you. I would carry a spare set of rear shafts for peace of mind.
It doesn't matter what he paid for them, it's what they're worth that matters.

Nope, stock axles. I think thats WAY to high. I wonder what that profesional was thinking when he was putting 4.88's and a locker in a 35.

was it?
SUCKER, he will be back soon for more professional work
