Hey everyone! Just got my first jeep! I have a 3.5" Skyjacker lift kit and the shocks I have are terrible. Very hard ride on the road and not that good performance offroad. Im looking for 4 new shocks, maybe $200 or less total for all 4 shocks. Im only 16 so dont have lots of extra money. What shocks would you recommend for good on road ride, yet still good flex offroad? I have done some research, and i like teraflex, but they are $250, so I wanted something less that may even be better. Links would be great too! Thank you! :wavey:

If $200 is your absolute limit, Skyjacker's Hydro shocks ride will provide a softer ride. Your present Skyjacker shocks are probably Skyjacker's Nitro shocks which are extremely stiff riding, too stiff for a Wrangler.

If you can save up a little whle longer, better quality yet still good riding shocks include OME (Old Man Emu) Nitrochargers, Bilstein 5100 (the 5100 valved for the Wrangler, other 5100s are too stiff), or Rancho RS9000xl which can be adjusted to 9 different stiffness settings.

I know nothing about Tera's shocks, I can only say the above recommended shocks are well thought of in the Jeep community.

Shocks are easily installed, only three bolts hold them in and all four can easily be installed without even jacking the Jeep up or removing any of the tires. I've installed 8-10 sets of shocks on several Jeeps and kept the tires on and Jeep on the ground for 6-7 of those jobs because it is so much faster without making it difficult.

I have Teraflex shocks on my 98 and I think they are great! Very nice on the highway and offroad both. Previously I had Bilstein's and they were way too stiff. BTW my shocks are paired with Superlift Softride springs and they work very well together.
