Need Nuts?

We were just donated a factory add-a-trunk for my daughters 99. I see there is two holes on each side of the cargo area to bolt it into but does anybody know if there's a special nut or grommet that goes there or just a big screw? I've given all of you creative types alot to work with!

my 99 came with some aftermarket instatrunk. There aren't any grommets on mine, it's just screwed on.

Mine came with thumb screw sort of things, I suspect any old bolt would do, especially one that you can tighten by hand. If you need, I'll get a pic in a while when it warms up some... The point being that they don't have to be torqued down as tightly as you can get them, finger tight is perfect, then if you need to remove it for the added space, no tools required....

When adding a trunk, the kit comes with nut inserts for the holes. If you do not have the hardware, from posts, I belive you can get behind the wheel liner and use a nut and bolt.

The image is from ours, the Instatrunk. But they are close.
You need these "wellnuts" or inserts, as Neil is suggesting. Once they're installed, they kinda stay with the Jeep, so it's not surprising they weren't included with your trunk.

I do not know if they are a NAPA/hardware store type item or not.

I know you can call and get them from us, but not positive if they will fit MOPAR trunk.
