need quick answer regarding 12.5 tires and stock 8 inch rims

My jeep is at good year right now and the guy said I shouldnt put the 33 12.5 x 15 duratracs on my stock rim because it is only 8 inches wide. Is that correct. I plan on buy some aftermarket rims in the spring but was trying to hold off.

Someone said stay away from 10 inch wide rims.

Could my stock rims be less than 8 inches. I believe I have these rims right now (on 31 10.5 x 15)

Ravine

* 15x8 aluminum
* 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern
* Backspacing = 5.5"
* Optional wheel with 30" tire package
* Offset = +25 mm

Lots of people including me run 8 inch rims with 12.5 inch tires. It makes it better when airing down so it will not break the bead so easily. If you never air down then 10 inch rims are fine. However, with stock ravine rims the wide tires will rub so you need spacers or new rims with a back spacing of 3.75 to 4 inches.

530 KTM was right. They put a tire on a rim and it would not even turn on the back. It was hitting my springs. I just ordered procom 7031's 15 x 8 with 3.75 backspacing. Looks like Xmas is coming early.

you can run 33x12.50's on 8" wide wheel, you just can't do it with your 5.5" of backspacing. tire will rub the rear spring perch.

you'll need new wheels with 3.75-4" of backspacing. 15x8 will be fine with 12.5" wide tires. or 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers, but most tire places will not touch a vehicle with spacers for liability reasons.

Not 530, but most of us run 12.5's on 8" wheels....

because you run 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers to achieve 4.25" of backspacing.

Well, yeah. For some reason, I meant to put that in the post, but I got busy, came back to it, then posted.
