Need some advice/opinions

I just ordered the zone 4.25" combo lift kit for my 2000 Sahara. It should be here mid week.

Now the question. I have a set of 15x8 wheels and 31" tires. The wheels were given to me and the tires were take offs from an '87 k-5 I used to have. The tires have probably 65-70% wear on them but still ok tires.

My concern is will it look really goofy having that much of a lift and only 31" tires? I've searched pictures and some don't look bad but some look terrible I me but it seems that the lifts shown in the pictures aren't a true 4.25. Just want some opinions.

Should I mount the 31"s or just get some 33 10.50 15 and sell my stock wheels, tires and these 31"s. If anyone by any chance is running 31"s on a 4-4.25 lift Id love to see your pics.

Oh and current picture of my jeep it has the D44 that was a nice surprise

I have a 2000 with a Zone 4" suspension lift. I run 31's on 15" rims on mine. I like mine. Plenty of room to flex.

One option is install the 3" springs/shocks and then wait on the MML and BL until you get the 33's. But if you do that, you will need to space down the skidplate some to eliminate the driveline vibes.

There is an article on JP Magazine that talks about what would fit. I personally think the 31's are going to look super small on a 4.5" lift. Jeep Lift and Tire Guide - Tech Articles - Jp Magazine

There are others and if I can find a link I have used in the past, it shows different lifts with different size tires. Very helpful, but can't find it right now. If I do, I will post back here.

Thanks for that link. Interesting they recommend a 12.5" wide tire instead of a 10.5. Always thought the 10.5 was recommended. And I misspoke/mistyped/misremembered...it's a 99

I believe the point was that 10.5 would be the recommended on Stock rims because of the backspacing and width of the rim itself. I actually like the wider look of the 12.5's and I went with that personally but updated the wheels to a 15 x 8 with the 3" of backspacing. You don't have to worry about rubbing if you do that, whereas you would be concerned about rubbing your fender wells if you kept the original 15x7. You don't want to risk cutting a tire down.
