Question Need some advice please

Ok need a little spare tire advice...
before i go on I know that I cant run a different size tire and have 4wd engaged at the same time..this will only be in worst case scenario to get me off of trail and home. And only for a weekend.

Ok..right now my jeeps sits on 32" BFG AT's. These are my options for a spare right now...a 30x9.5 street tire or a used but good 33x12.50 BFG AT.

Im leaning more towards the 33" because its closer in tire height/width, and also has matching tread pattern. Im just worried the the size and weight will damage my tailgate on the stock tire carrier. Not sure what to do..

Ehh for now you will be fine but I would work on getting a tire carrier for it soon tho so you don't run into that issue.

Get your tire size, and both of the ones you're looking at and plug them in here:
Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing

Pick the closest one I guess is what I'd do. Do you have LSD's? That might matter too...

Someone else may have a more authoritative statement, but I think that a mismatched tire on the rear may damage the LSD...

I know it's just a spare, but...

I'd rather go to the local tire store and buy a 15 dollar junker that someone else just had replaced for my spare. Just me tho...good hunting.

i run 35" tires and my spare is a 30x9.5 i just have the spare because the back of the jeep looks really stupid without it. i have another 35" tire that matches my others but i want to build a carrier for it before i start carrying it with me, if only i had the time. for now, AAA is my spare tire. if im offroad i take the back seat out and put the other tire back there.
