Exclamation need some help

Selling my 1997 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L V6, 5-speed Manual Transmission, as we don't really need 2 cars at this point. Has a 2" lift kit, 31in tires with very good tread, including spare. 4x4 is in great working order. Radiator recently replaced. Has some minor rust. Have Softtop but it needs hardware, and the back zipout window of the softtop does have a tear in it. Currently has ~85000 miles on a new Engine and Transmission. selling to best offer Any questions, please feel free to email me.

im looking to but my first jeep and was wondering what you would offer for this jeep?

First of all, ask why the hell he had to replace the tranny and engine at only 85k. Sounds like abuse.

If he doesn't have receipts it didn't happen.

MY OPINION :

I dont care if you are Richard Petty's crew chief....before you buy ANY pre-owned vehicle....get an third-party mechanic to give it a pre-buy inspection.

Preferably a mechanic with experience in the type of vehicle you are buying (Wrangler).

If he finds a problem...you can decide if you can coppe with it and continue. If he says there are no problems you have more peace of mind. They aint gonna tell you that you should or shouldnt buy it...too much legal liability. All they will do is tell you what they find and the decision is yours.

If you dont wanna spring the bucks for a $100 inspection....you darn-sure aint gonna like a $500 surprise.

Taking it to a third party...makes it objective...and might give you some bargaining chips.
