Need some help with flares!

So I hit a deer yesterday and my front flares got pretty screwed up, so I figured good excuse to upgrade! Does anyone have any experience with the smittybilt xrc tube flares? I know they aren't DOT approved so have you guys been pulled over due to having them? Some pics would be nice too! Thanks guys!

I have them on my rig and i love them...they've been great for what i paid for them. I currently run the zero flare version and have not been pulled over but i also live in Colorado where its not too bothersome to the police.

The construction is great and install was easy...i relocated my signals into my grill with a set of JK signal housings as well. The only complaint with these is the powdercoat is "decent" at best so i've repainted them while owning them which has done just fine for what i need.

Heres a recent pic of mine...

I am soon pulling the trigger on the Poison Spyder fenders. Strongest on the market since they use rolled steel instead of tubes. Competitively priced too.

To play devils advocate, many of the stronger upgrades can be so strong that you get body damage as force is transferred to the body. Even some of the hard plastic ones can bend the body. That happened to a trail buddy who had bushwhackers on his jk. No actually hope my plastic ones bend and flex, and even break before damage is done. That's my 2 cents.

I admit this is true as the flares connect directly to the body unlike in TJs that extend out.

Since the insurance is paying for it I think I'm going with the bushwhacker flat flares. Tried to do the metal cloak but they said it was too extreme

Just an update, I went with the bushwhacker flat flares, and I couldn't be happier. They added a ton of clearance, enough to maybe fit 35's now. The quality is a lot better than factory. I have no doubt they will last a long time.

While it may look like they added a ton of clearance i believe your still limited to where they mount( and the old flares ) mounting points.

I still have a lot to do before I go to 35's. I'm getting a 4 inch lift eventually and I already have a 1.25 BL. I just got my 33 kevlars anyways
