Need some more jam in my 2.5

I have a 97 tj with 31" tires and want a little more jam from it would like to be able to pull my dirt bike trailer I know about going to a 4.56 or 4.88 gear set but still want to look into some motor upgrades as well I have a 4.0 and a 4.0 ho that I could swap into it but they are in running jeeps right now just trailer kings so I guess is there much power to unlock from the little 2.5 or just swap it out
Thanks for input

There is not much more power at all, and a 4.0 swap is hard and costs lots of $$$$$. Best thing to do is re-gear or sell and find a 4.0.

Jam???? I'm a southerner, can't really help you unless you talking about something to put on toast. What in the world are you talking about?

Sorry for the slang wanted to get a little more power out of it I know a swap can be hard but I have a full donner jeep that could be used I am better with a welder than average and pretty handy with a wrench I don't mind putting in the time to do it just not sure if it is worth while stock to stock is not a drastic gain I have found a lot more upgrades for the 4.0 but still want to feel out the prospect of making use of the 2.5 again thanks for any input
