Just purchased the new XD Rockstar 2 / with 33 x 12.5 Terra Grappler's.
I also did 3 1/4 " susp. lift.
Wonder if I should go with a smaller wheel, think the 17" will look out of proportion on a TJ ?
Also adding Banks Power Pack exhaust system. adds 29HP and 40lb-ft torque.
Any thoughts or changes to these three? Going in the shop Monday.
Personally I am going to stick with 15" wheels. 17" wouldn't look too out of place, it won't make the tires look high profile or anything. I'm sure you could look up some pictures and decide what you want
17" wheels won't look "out of proportion"... I have 18" wheels and I think they look great. However, tires costs go way up and selection goes down when you go over 15" wheels. Also, you won't be able to air down as much, if your off-roading requires this. As to the Rockstars, if you like 'em, great. They're all black so that takes away some of the "bling" factor that Rockstars are notorious for.
I appreciate the replys. The XD rockstar 2 is a new. As far as the putting them on a ricer? That funny. I think the wheels look great. Ill let you know how they look on the TJ.
The Banks Power pack is advertised to increase HP by 29 plus. Ill see how the performance is. I believe it. I have a 911 tubo and added new software. was told it would increase HP from 480 to 560. It did just that, I didn't believe it until I drove it. Its a rocket.
I'll give you my honest opinion about the Banks next week. We'll see.
Those rim"z" do not belong on a Jeep. They belong on big lifted city trucks that aren't used as trucks. Putting those rims on a Jeep is like putting mud terrain tires on a sports car.

I'll be suprised if you think the new rockstar 2 don't look good. They are a new design and not fxxx bling. I'll post a pic of my jeep. I think it looks great. Maybe the old rockstar don't belong but I think these do. See for yourself. When I post a pic.
I think they look great. Seems silly that people dislike something just because it became super popular with a certain demographic way back when. They're still nice looking, well made wheels that look good on your Jeep. Enjoy 'em!
Wow, I have to laugh. There are a bunch of opinionated A holes on this forum. It's hilarious. If its something that they don't like or disagree with then there is no constructive criticism or humble opinions. I'm laughing because one guy says to put the rockstar 2 on a rice burner cause he doesnt like the look they look like Sh.. How ever that same guy names his yellow Jeep "Bumble Bee" ?
I mean really?
Hard to take some of these guys serious. I was new to this forum and I realize it's not a forum a person with any sense would post on.
Hey I know what I like and appreciate constructive criticism but some of the comments are no doubt from a few uneducated yahoos. It's too bad, if you don't like something it's OK but to throw shit out there with no bearing is rediculous. Just my 2 cents. Anyhow this was an eye opener
At first from reading the topic title I was a little iffy about putting 17's on a tj but I think you made an excellent choice. They look really good on it, especially since your rig is black as well. Not quite my cup of tea since I love my flat black 15's steelies but everybody has their preferences.
Looks good, I think. If you're going for the all black look then you could paint your headlight bezels black and get rid of the chrome. Just an idea. Wheels look good though
