New Bulbs for Factory Fog Lamps

I have the factory fog lamps and was looking to upgrade the bulbs to something brighter (of course for off-road use only).

Can this be done without upgrading the lights themselves or the wiring?

The factory bulbs are only 55watts, and I wouldn't want to risk an electrical fire by sticking in a more powerful bulb.

when I was young I used to always put in 100W bulbs. Never had a problem, but that's not to say it was the smartest decision. It kinda depends on the wire size, switch size, etc. You could always put them in and evaluate how much additional heat you're generating through the stock wiring I guess. Worst case scenario is that you burn up some wiring? Or your jeep?

You can use the 100watt spot light bulbs, as long as you upgrade the wiring. If you don't get a fog light wiring upgrade, you WILL run a high risk of burning up your switch, or your wiring.

Otherwise, you could always keep your fogs for bad weather, and get a set of long range driving lights for more lighting. Which ever way you choose, its gonna cost ya around 150 bones or so.
