New carpet install, and new rust spot you may want to check

Installed new black carpet today, Went Great, Than after realizing Chrysley doesn't paint under the hinges I decided to take off the rear hinges conecting the back gate. Turned out to be pretty bad, I have some pictures of all of it, would reccomend having you check yours out.

I sanded all the rust spots, and used por 15 to stop it for good. Caught in time so it was just surface rust.

+1 I replaced the tailgate hinges on my 97 because corrosion made them real tight.found the same underneath.They dont paint the body and gate before they strap on the hinges from the factory.light sanding and POR-15.

yeah they just bolt on. pretty much anything on the exterior of a jeep is easy remove. haha.

Not on my 97 it wasnt,I stripped out 8 of the torx bolts,had to easy out them.but the new hinges from kendrol are great,there black powder coated Stainless steel.The stock ones are aluminum......

All but one of my bolts came out. but luckily it was the bottom hinge which could be removed and and latch a vise grip on to it and back it out. but all but one came out with ease. mine have alan wrench heads that easily strip, so I used a 35 torque and pounded each one with a hammer to assure they didnt strip
