New engine cost $$$

Anyone have any idea around how much a new engine would cost for a 1997 jeep wrangler tj 4.0 sport 5 speed MANUAL?

These remanufactured engines as good as the new ones?
They are pretty cheap...are they worth the money?

Yes, most come with decent warranties on rebuilt motors. That is if a certified place installs it.

I just had an ATK installed in my 2001 TJ. A "friend" mechanic installed it for me. Figure on about $3800 installed unless you have a "firend" or can do it yourself. Warranty is 3 years and 100k miles. Email me if you need more info...

I rebuilt mine (2002 TJ 4.0L 5 speed manual) (New Clutch) and put it in myself with help from my uncle for around $2400. It helps to have an uncle or friend who can help you do it yourself and save some $$$. Its not too hard just lots of man hours and bolts to put back in the right spot. It runs better than ever now.
