New floor!

The guy who owned the Jeep previously attempted some kind of bed liner but it was Duplicolor something.. Well it's horrible. I could rub it off with my hands in some areas. NO PREP = FAIL ... It was nice, fresh, paint under it all. So long story short me and a couple friends stripped all the other "crap" out and I ordered a product called U-POL Raptor. I have seen it in this forum a couple times and seems people really like it.

Everything went VERY smoothly. Great price and got the stuff really quick. Only used 3 of the 4 bottles and sprayed around 38-40 psi.

Here's the pics, let me know what you think.

Nothing crazy for prep... The hard part was getting all the old crap out first!

If your starting with nothing (ex. just took out carpet) all you really need to do is take some 180 grit sand paper (or similar) and lightly sand everything, scuffing mainly, don't try to cut through the paint. Then just take some chemical paint prep like the "Wipe All" that autozone sells to get any oils off the surface. Do yourself a favor and wear chemical resistant gloves during this whole process as well!

Anywhere you don't want it! But seriously, I would NOT get it on anything that moves or has something that moves into it, ex the seat belt area's, e-brake, pedals obviously.. Other than that it's your call as to where you spray it. I think the spring would be a great idea. I had to do it in the winter and the whole house smelled for a day or so, it got strong real quick with not being able to have the garage door open all the way.

Don't worry about screw holes, they will all thread back in with no trouble unless you purposely try to fill one in.

Update for those who care: I've had it on for about 2 months now and i'd say it was worth it.. It does have a couple "chips" now but it's still nice. Just doesn't hold up as well as say Rhino lining.

Ive had my Raptor since last spring. No chips or peels. I do use rubber mats on the front floor to block some of the heat. A couple tips. If you just need to scuff, use a brown 3m scotchbrite pad. In my opinion, much easier than sand paper. I also used the cheap foam ear plugs to block all the holes I didnt want liner in. Just roll em up and stick em in.

You got 4 bottles of the stuff... So you do kind of layer it. I just used 3 bottles and just hit everything onceish. I wish I would have just used it all now tho and made it a lil thicker but oh well. Maybe someday i'll get another kit and second coat it all and do some accessories as well to match (fender flares!)

I herculined my tub last year and it is holding up extremely well...no chips! It is nice to be able to hose the mud out! The prep work sounds similar and is definetly the most important part if you want all of your hard work to last.
