Arrow New front bumper (thoughts)

Ok, I’ve gotten the bug for a new front bumper (and some dead presidents in my pocket too) and I think I’ve found one that I like. It’s a bit pricey – but it’s actually about the same money I spent on the ARB.

It’s the Rock Crawler front bumper on the top of the page. (Sorry, I tried to upload the pics but they’re Java so I had no luck.)

http://www.roadarmor.com/ra3/jeep.html

I’ve never really been big anything from Road Armor or Overkill Engineering but I think I like this front bumper and it will look good with some TNT Tube Fenders.

Just looking for some thoughts/opinions of what you guys think.

Also, if I pull the trigger on this the ARB is for sale!

I think thats too much for a bumper.

I'm almost positive that another company makes a similar(better looking) bumper for much cheaper. I have the link to the site somewhere, ill post it now

I didn't want to be the first to say it, but I think the price is ridiculous. I would get one custom made (which would cost less) and no one would have one quite like mine.

I agree they are very similar. I've always heard good things about Shrockworks. And they are TEXAS BOYS!

I just sent them an email inquiring about the price and availabilty. I'll post up their response when I get it.

Yeah, I agree with the others, that's a grip just to spend on a front bumper. If you like the pre-runner style then check out this ones from Toys By Troy here in Phoenix.

Man that is alot of bones to spend! If you really want one like that. I can make one for ya for 150 bucks plus the tubing cost. I have made a few bumpers but they werent for jeeps so I am sure I could do up something like that. Im working on a rear bumper for mine right now.

So it starting to sound like you guys think it's a bit expensive?

Of course this is just one option of many I'm looking at. I just liked the looks of it, price aside. I'm still concerned about the quality of it as I've heard they don't have the best welds.

yeah i like it a lot too! to be honest i really don't know what bumper it is! i got it off of the tubular bumper thread i told you about earlier...firstaidtj had posted it...i'll see if i can find out though! looks like a nice bumer. im sure it is a little more expensive than your average simple warn bumper but i still think it would be less expensive than the first one!

i'm workin at 11 which is in just a bit but i'll search about it later and let you know

I went to Toys by Troy’s website, if you get the TBT 4006 FF the price on it is:

Front bumper: $ 580.80
Light mounts: $ 47.69
Winch plate: $ 163.90

Total: $ 792.39

That’s actually more than the Road Armor.

However, I do like the way it looks and I think it would work well with tube fenders. The only question is with the prices of the two almost the same, which one is better quality?

One thing i have learned from my jeeping purchases is if you like something BUY IT, dont buy something else just because it is cheaper because then everytime you look back at your jeep you will wonder how nice it wouldve been, and spend time making your decision so you wont regret anything. IMO tho i like the bumper Bigjeep posted and its look wit flatfenders. Good luck! Cant wait to see what you decide

Yea flat fenders are nasty! I know you said something about getting the bumper for the same price as an ARB. Im sad now because im afraid flat fenders wont look good with the ARB bumper since the bumper comes so flush with the current fenders... jus one of those times i didnt think far enough in advance to realize i was goin to want flat fenders

That's why I'll have to ditch the ARB. There's no way to run the tube fenders with an ARB.

Honestly I think tube fenders are one of the coolest things you can add to your Jeep. It's on the very top of my short list, as you can see.

Ok, I came across another. This one is only $ 300 shipped. It doesn't have the radiator hoop but it is a nice looking bumper.

I think this might be on the front of my Jeep in the next couple of weeks.

So far this one is my favorite. I sent them an email asking about light tabs, shackle mounts etc. I'll post up their response as soon as I get it.

Does anyone know anything about Rugged Ridge Bumpers? I am debating between the ARB and Rugged Ridge Model: 11540.01.
