New Gears are in!

Dropped my baby off at 4 wheel parts at 9 this morn, just got it home with its new 4.56 gears. Its pretty much the perfect gearing for a 4 banger on 33" tires. Glad I didnt go 4.88, because the rpm would be too high. I think it was about 2900 rpm at 65mph, but im not sure. ask if you got any questions

I just clicked on to ask about gear problems... How much does something like that cost? I have 3:73's with the old ('98) Sahara package and have had major problems lately. Do i need to go bigger with 33's? Are my tires tearing them up? I would've figured 3:73's would be sufficient. Should i just swap out rear ends? I just want to get it back on the road summers are short around here. I don't really do any wheeling anymore. Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks

those tires wont damage the gears to my knowledge, but they will kill your takeoffs and power. I upgraded to get more power and better milage. No need to swap rear ends with 33" tires. 35" maybe, and 37" yes get new axle in back. It cost me almost 1k, but i got $300 off with a special start of summer sale.

yes, from 3.73 to 4.56. That is the # of times the driveshaft turns per 1 turn of the tire
