Welcome to the forum bud. Jeep looks clean.

Also don't concern yourself with what others like. Its yours do what you like.

Beach look eh? Maybe a windshield light bar with some KC daylighters?

Top down!

The BFG A/T tires you have now do great on the beach.

As for size that depends on your other plans also.

Do you plan to lift it any or stay at the stock height you have now?

You can get some 31x11.5 tires and 15x8 wheels with 3.25'' BS.

That's about as wide as you'd want to go without worrying about ball joint wear and such.

What size is your wheels now and what is the backspacing on them?

To get the tires to stick out wider you'll need a wheel will less backspacing.

Give me a little bit to find the pictures.

Backspacing is the measurement from the mounting surface of the wheel to the outside edge of the wheel.

More backspacing = wheel tucked more under the fender well.
Less backspacing = wheel sticks farther out of the fender well.

Who is the maker of your wheels? I can probably tell you what the backspacing is if you know the brand of wheel.

Here is a picture of 31x10.5r15 tires /// 15x8 wheels with 3.25'' bs.

My flares are the same width as your European flares. 4" wide.. The tire sticks out the side of the flare by 2''.

Sorry about the only pic I can find right now......

American Racing Baja ,16x8 wheel with 4.5 on 5 bolt circle.

Only comes with 4.5'' of backspacing according to American Racing.

So your BS on your wheels is 4.5''.

What does that mean. I should search for new wheels if I want to go the Wide style?

There is a couple of ways to do it.

You can keep the wheels and tires you have now and run a wheel spacer to push the wheel out farther.

Go to a wheel with less backspacing which sticks the wheel out farther.

Both ways will get you "wider" but the choice of wheels with less backspacing has my vote.

You can also add a slightly wider tire to the wheel to give it a wider "footprint" which is good for beach driving.

I'm not very good with the metric measurements for tires but I have asked one of our European members to come to this thread to help.

here in europe we use the wheel offset and not the backspacing.

p.e. the stock TJ 7x15 wheel has an offset of -37.5 millimeters.
a 8x16 wheel with 4.5" backspacing has an offset of about 0 millimters.

what do you mean with "beach look"? wide and low tires?

with your wheel offset I wouldn´t install wider tires than 10.5". with 30 millimeters wheel spacers you could install 12.5" (about 325 millimeters) tires.
i have 8.5x15 rims with +28 mm offset and 12.5" wide tires fit fine.

but take a look at the laws in your country (where do you live?). in nearly all european countries the tires must be covered. you would need wider flares then.

When I say Wide i mean wide tires. now I have 225 and when I say low I mean the car to be low. The flares wouldnt be a problem for me

I would install some 265/75R16 (about 32x11.5x16), that´s the biggest tire. That works on the road, but only on the road.

Here´s a pic of my TJ when I bought it with 32x11.5x15 tires on 7.5x15 wheels with -15 mm offset.
